Aequor Technologies in India would be going for SEI CMMI Level 3 (though we are aiming for Level 4).
The management is keen on the process improvements that would enable us to bid for more
development projects around the globe.  Kamal made a formal announcement to this effect in Gurgaon
office during the Nielson’s visit on Fri Apr 17, 2009.

What is CMMI
Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach that provides
organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. It can be used to guide process improvement
across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational
functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide
a point of reference for appraising current processes.

CMMI Benefits
CMMI best practices enable organizations to do the following:
more explicitly link management and engineering activities to their business objectives
expand the scope of and visibility into the product lifecycle and engineering activities to ensure that
the product or service meets customer expectations incorporate lessons learned from additional
areas of best practice (e.g., measurement, risk management, and supplier management)

CPLC San Francisco Sports Festival Day

Friday, April 17th, the CPLC San Francisco branch held a Sports Festival in Golden Gate Park… a “Speak English Only” event of course! Every student was encouraged to bring their friends and a dish of their choice as a potluck. Before the festival, each class prepared a game of their choice to teach the other classes, either an American game, or one from their home country. One of the most entertaining games to watch was “Zombie Tag,” whoever gets tagged becomes a zombie, and the last person to become a zombie wins. Even the most reserved students made excellent zombies in this game! Afterwards we had a massive tug of war with a 50 foot rope and a Korean BBQ, organized by our Korean admissions counselor, Cherry. We enjoyed meeting students from other schools, and were even able to refer students to our school from the event. The weather was really hot that day, so besides a few bad sunburns, the event was definitely a success. We hope everyone can join next year!

Baisakhi which fell on 13th April 2009 this year was day of celebration for the Sikhs in India and all over the world.

The day of Baisakhi marks the birth of Khalsa Panth and therefore holds tremendous significance for the Sikhs. It was on the Baisakhi Day meeting organized at Anandpur Sahib, in 1699 that the tenth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Sigh laid the foundation of Khalsa Panth and called on the Sikhs to sacrifice themselves for their community.
The Basakhi festival is celebrated to renew the pledge to exercise harmony and brotherhood, as is enshrined in Sikhism through the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib, the last guru of the Sikh faith. To celebrate the festival, the Sikhs visit Gurdwara. The beginning of the month of Baisakhi symbolizes renewal and regeneration, ripening and fruition.
Besides, it was on the Baisakhi Day that Guru Gobind Singh administered amrit (nectar) to his first batch of five disciples, the Panj Piaras making them Singhs, a martial community. After the Baisakhi Day in 1699 the tradition of gurus was discontinued, and the Granth Sahib - the Holy book of the Sikhs was declared the eternal guide of the Sikhs.

This was the 310th birthday of the Khalsa.
Greetings to all in the Aequor Family on this auspicious day.

Visit by Technology Team from Nielsen Business Media Online at Aequor Development Center at Gurgaon India

On April 13th 2009 the red carpet was rolled out to welcome the visiting team of Nielsen Business Media Online at Aequor’s Development Center in Gurgaon India. The client delegation comprised of Mr. K J Saini (Vice President Technology), Warren Chang (Manager Application Development and Application Support), and Samer Fallah (Senior Application Developer).
This was the second annual interaction between Aequor’s offshore development resources and the client. Like the previous one this too proved beneficial for both in as much both the teams were able to put a face to an otherwise remote contact. Samer and Warren were engaged on a one to one with resources and shared their experience over the past, providing an insight to projects in the pipeline and in the immediate future. Discussion was carried out on new skills required against technologies being introduced or to be introduced on the already strong Java Platform at Nielsen Business Media Online.
The two teams concentrated on understanding present day requirements to enhance the efficiency of the onshore-offshore model for development and further strengthen an already strong development environ. NBM team was all praise for the development resources at Aequor and openly expressed satisfaction about their work and diligence.
The Aequor team comprising Kamal Virdi, D P Singh and Ramanathan exchanged notes on the current operational aspects, improvements perceived at both ends and meeting ensuing new challenges associated with emerging business requirements, technology enhancements and adaptation. We are sure like the interaction a year ago, this too would enable opening of new avenues and increase customer satisfaction propelling growth activities at NBM and Aequor.
